================

Oracle does not provide any support for this process.
This document is only meant to provide some helpful tips and suggestions from the Oracle perspective that may help with the migration.
Emulex resources and support MUST be used to ensure successful migration of any FC HBA bindings, etc.

Some suggested resources for Solaris 10 (ask Emulex for any Solaris 8 & 9 resources):

Go to the Emulex Downloads page for Solaris and downloading the applicable Driver User Manual

https://www.broadcom.com/support/download-search

https://www.broadcom.com/support/download-search/?pg=Storage+Adapters,+Controllers,+and+ICs&pf=Fibre+Channel+Host+Bus+Adapters&pn=&pa=&po=&dk=solaris

NOTE:

  1. After native Emulex FC HBA Driver has been removed and Oracle Emulex FC HBA Driver has been installed, Oracle will only provide "best-effort" in troubleshooting issues since it is a NON-Oracle  Emulex FC HBA card.

  2. Installing the Oracle Emulex FC HBA Driver on the HBA does not mean the HBA is now covered by Oracle's Maintenance Contract. The HBA is still considered third party and will not
    be replaced by Oracle if it goes faulty.
  3. Emulex does not support co-existence of both Native NON-Oracle Emulex FC HBA Driver "lpfc" and Oracle Emulex FC HBA Driver "emlxs" on same Solaris server. Replacing a NON-Oracle Emulex FC HBA card with a Oracle Emulex FC HBA card would require migrating all NON-Oracle Emulex FC HBA cards to Oracle Emulex FC HBA Driver.

  4. This document applies to any NON-Oracle Emulex FC HBA Driver including but not limited to lpfc, and elxfc.
