Symptoms


Firmware upgrade is not required.

It simply means the current SRU/patch on the system has a newer hba driver/firmware than is currently loaded on the hba cards.

In general it is always recommended to be at latest driver/firmware versions.

Release notes would have details on what items were address in latest version of driver/firmware.

 

Errors seen in /var/adm/messages for Solaris 10

Firmware update required. (A manual HBA reset or link reset (using luxadm or fcadm) is required.)

Firmware update required. (A manual HBA or link reset using luxadm, fcadm, or emlxadm is required.)

 

Errors seen in /var/adm/messages for Solaris 11

Changes

emlxs patch 145098-02 (or above) was installed (requires 141876-07 144188-02 (or greater))
