Oracle Virtual Desktop Infrastructure: Replication Services Report "Down" Status if Multiple Reverse DNS Records for Master or Slave Hosts Exist

(Doc ID 1379520.1)

Last updated on JULY 27, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Virtual Desktop Infrastructure - Version 3.3 to 3.5.2 [Release 3.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Oracle's Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) version 3.3.X - 3.5.x web console interface and "vda-center status" command line interface may both incorrectly report that the replication server host status as "Down", even though examination of the mysqld server logs and failover tests of the replication slave host indicate that replication data is being transferred and the service is  working as expected.

Debugging the vda-db-status shell script shows that there is a mismatch between the hostname that VDI expects and what the mysql server is reporting as the hostname of the slave host.
