Solaris Volume Manager (SVM): growfs Command Returns "Failed To Disable Logging" (Doc ID 1387970.1)

Symptoms

Running growfs may return the message "failed to disable logging" on /var or other filesystems if filesystem logging cannot be disabled.  When this happens, lockfs will also return an error.

We will use an example in which /dev/md/dsk/d50 is mounted on /var in this article.
