Cannot Launch More Than 120 Virtual Box Virtual Machines on a Solaris Host (128 on Linux) "Cannot create IPC semaphore"

When using Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and trying to launch more than 120 Virtual Machines (VMs) using Virtual Box on a Solaris host as the Desktop Provider,  the error

     Cannot create IPC semaphore

is seen.


The same error is seen on Linux but the expected limit under Linux is 128.


The number of running VMs approaches 120 on Solaris or 128 on Linux.
