(Doc ID 1433097.1)
Last updated on JUNE 13, 2023
Applies to:
Solaris Operating System - Version 10 3/05 HW2 and laterOracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
For T4-2 and T3-2 only.

Goal
Note - Installing a Sun Storage 6 Gb SAS PCIe RAID HBA (375-3701) into the system will disable the front-panel SATA DVD drive and front panel USB ports
A workaround is to use an external DVD. In this case the device target must be added to the device path when using show-disks OBP command. Could be something like:
Another workaround is to use the ILOM CD/DVD Storage Redirection from another remote system.
- on this remote system download the appropriate Solaris ISO image
- in a web browser enter the https://
- go to Remote Control -> Redirection -> Launch Remote Console
- in the remote console Devices menu update you can choose CD-ROM (for the physical cdrom / dvd on this system) or CD-ROM Image (for the ISO image)

Notes:
This issue was observed for the T4-2 and T3-2 with SGX-SAS6-R-INT-Z 7047503 8 [C] 8-Port 6Gbps SAS-2 RAID PCI Express HBA, B4 ASIC.
This is no problem in split-bus connection : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23075_01/html/E23080/z400000b1036986.html#z4000b081297384
