When the Gnome application, such as gnome-terminal(1), gedit(1) or etc, is unexpectedly crashed, there is an error dialog and to restart(or close) the application. Regardless of your choice on the dialog, the application does not leave the core dump.
But sometimes we would like to get the applications to dump core for troubleshooting purpose. This document explains how to force the Gnome applications to dump the core file instead of pop up error dialog.
