Applies to:
Solaris Operating System - Version 10 3/05 to 11.1 [Release 10.0 to 11.0]Information in this document applies to any platform.
MOS document '1590341.1 OBP Variables Modified by /usr/sbin/eeprom Command in Solaris may not Persist when ldmd is Running' has been merged with this document, as it was duplicate.
Symptoms
The effect can happen in following scenarios on a sun4v system if the ldmd is running:
- After executing 'init 6' or 'reboot'
For example after luactivate and init 6, the system reboots to the same 'current' boot environment (BE) rather than the newly activated boot environment. - Variable updates doesn't persist across a SP power-cycle (ILOM: stop /SYS, start /SYS)
In all cases, when reverting to the factory-default configuration from a configuration generated by the Logical Domains Manager, all LDoms variables start with their default OBP values.
