This is a known issue.  Oracle Directory server is running. There are bunch of ldap clients. Users can  login fine from ldap clients.

But when they use putty session to our Sun ssh server on ldapclient,  passwd expiry warning does not appear. It works for ssh client connection from solaris to solaris. This issue is with only Putty session.

Even ldapsearch command shows warning as below:
ldapsearch -h (server):(por)t -D "cn=directory manager" -L -b
  ou=people,dc=company,dc=com uid= (username):As expected: ldapsearch: Warning ! Your
  password will expire after 12 days, 0 seconds. This doesn't appear
  when logging in with SSH.

pam_ldap should be running on Ldap client.
