Disable inetd And init 6 Does Not Reboot The System (Doc ID 1456017.1)

 Shutdown and reboot do not work after disabling inetd service.



# svcadm disable inetd

# init 6 (or $ shutdown -y -g0 -i6)

Then, the system shutdown will hang at this point for /dev/console.


bash-3.00# svc.startd: The system is coming down.  Please wait.
svc.startd: 99 system services are now being stopped.
Aug  9 20:30:53 s1lab161 syslogd: going down on signal 15
