Solaris Volume Manager (SVM) the newfs Command Fails with "Resource temporarily unavailable" when run on metadevice (Doc ID 1478862.1)

Symptoms

A ufs file system is being created on top of a Solaris Volume Manager metadevice. The newfs command is correctly run against the device. Instead of creating the file system, the command fails with the following errors.
