Solaris Cluster and Solaris Volume Manager (SVM) "write error" and "error writing extent header" while Trying to Create Soft Partition softpartition (Doc ID 1480470.1)

Symptoms

Write errors were reported in /var/adm/messages file for soft partition, d192.

The following error message was also seen:

Jul 27 16:08:26 Node1 md_sp: [ID 133541 kern.warning] WARNING: md: d192: open failed, soft partition status is 0.

In order to repair the soft partition  umount of the filesystem and metaclear was attempted. When trying to recreate it:

# metainit d192 -p d190 -o 41945024 -b 188743680

metainit: Node1: d192: error writing extent header
