Last updated on OCTOBER 05, 2022
Applies to:
OpenSolaris Operating System - Version 2009.06 to 2009.06 [Release 10.0]SunOS
Symptoms
After enabling multipathing via "stmsboot -D fp -e" on each reboot we see following warning type of messages on console and in the /var/adm/messages file:
example:
Oct 4 xxxxxxxx nodename unix: WARNING: kstat_create('mdi', 0, 'ssd81.t1.fp3'): namespace collision
Oct 4 xxxxxxxx nodename unix: WARNING: kstat_create('mdi', 0, 'ssd81.t2.fp3'): namespace collision
Oct 4 xxxxxxxx nodename unix: WARNING: kstat_create('mdi', 0, 'ssd81.t3.fp2'): namespace collision
We tried "devfsadm -Cv" and reconfigure reboot, but warning still persists. Mutlipathing works fine
Changes
After enabling multipathing via "stmsboot -D fp -e"
