Symptoms
When playing audio files with Windows Media Player, there may be occasional glitches (or gaps) in the audio playback. This happens when connecting to the Windows Desktop using the Sun Ray Windows Connector; uttsc (via RDP or vRDP), but is also seen with rDesktop.
It will be found that in the Windows Guest, that this behavior would accompany CPU latency issues as measured by a test program.
A sample environment exhibiting this issue is:
Host Operating System: Oracle Solaris 10 8/11 X4170 x86 (64bit)
Guest Operating System: Windows 7 with SP1 64bit Enterprise (with Guest Additions 4.1.14)
Memory: 2048MB; 1 CPU
VirtualBox: 4.1.14; with Extension Pack 4.1.14r77440-ENT
