How to Configure Apache to Constrain Reported Version Information in Secure Global Desktop Deployments (Doc ID 1509713.1)

Last updated on JUNE 22, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Secure Global Desktop - Version 4.5 to 5.3 [Release 4.0 to 5.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The Oracle Secure Global Desktop administrator may wish to update the configuration of the bundled Apache webserver to constrain the version information that is publicly reported.   Obscuring this information may be considered a security asset, as incoming threats would need to a bulk-force approach to discovering vulnerabilities, rather than than a tailored attempt to exploit a known vulnerability in a specific version.
