Goal

This document provides procedures to backup and restore a disk set on a system with Solaris Volume Manager (SVM) in NON-Clustered systems.

It also outlines the procedure on removing and recreating SVM disk sets.  This is essential when a disk set is in a state that the system is unable to take ownership or is confused about the state of the disk set.  Additionally, all attempts to clear the confused state fails. This procedure should be used as a last attempt to fix the problem disk set, but could also help to recover from a corrupt disk set.
