Symptoms

 The ssh(1) login towards a system fails, and the message "pam_ldap: no legal authentication method configured" does get logged in /var/adm/messages on the target system.

Changes

Display the LDAP Name Service client configuration of the system to that you intend to login via ssh(1).There you'll notice the system is configured to use authenticationMethod=none and credentialLevel=anonymous.
