Purpose
This document explains the requirement for Apache / Tomcat related processes to be owned--and run--as root on a production SGD deployment.
Scope
The Secure Global Desktop product is bundled with several third party technologies necessary for operation, and intended to facilitate the quick deployment of 'certified' combinations of products. The Apache / Tomcat components are maintained by the Apache foundation, and bundled with little modification other than basic configuration with Secure Global Desktop.
