Symptoms
Ops Center OS provisioning can fail on an s11 machine, with the error "unable to create installadm service". In these situations the following error will be found in the cacao logs:
SEVERE: thr#310:"JM-<HOSTNAME>.857.1.6850.6836_<IP>" Unable to create installadm service <HOSTNAME>_oc_solaris_sparc. Output from command com.sun.hss.domain.OperationNotSupportedException: subprocess returned non-zero: /usr/sbin/installadm create-service -n <HOSTNAME>_oc_solaris_sparc -a sparc -p solaris=http://<IP>/IPS/ -d /var/js/AI/sparc returned 2
Changes
An OSP attempt of a Solaris 11 system will fail whenever /bin/hostname on the proxy host reveals a fully qualified hostname, or even when it contains "." characters.
