Solaris 11 Systems Appear To Hang While Capturing Network Packets (Doc ID 1543154.1)

Solaris 11 systems become unresponsive to any network activity when running packet capturing tools like

Should the issue be encountered, the system will no longer respond to network activity such as ping, telnet, ftp, ssh, etc.

Running ifconfig(1M) or dladm(1M) at the same time as packet capturing could result in the host appearing to hang. E.g. when running

A system crash dump is required to confirm the cause.
