Restarting the Appliance Kit Management Daemon (AKD) may impact data services continuity - several services will restart

Goal

Restarting the Appliance Kit Management Daemon (AKD) may impact data services continuity.

Several services may restart or refresh, possibly causing timeouts for client-side data access.

On OS 2011.x restarting AKD may impact data services continuity. Several services will restart or refresh, possibly causing timeouts for client-side data access.

On OS8.0 though 8.7, it can be seen that Fibre Channel (FC) ports go down and back up when used in target mode and this can (and has) cause an interruption specifically with things like VMware.

On OS8.8 and above, data access to the ZFS Storage Appliance is not effected by an Appliance Kit Management Daemon (AKD) restart.
