Symptoms

After installing patch 119783-17 or newer (SPARC) or 119784-17 or newer (x86_64) on a Solaris 10 system that hosts the DNS server services, the named(1M) daemon process may refuse client requests and log messages similar to this example:

Changes

The patches 119783-17 and 119784-17 provide a new version of the BIND DNS server software, and that requires some additional options in the configuration of the named.conf(4) file.
