How to destroy a pool whose vdevs have gone away (Doc ID 1554925.1)

Information in this document applies to any platform.
When the underlying vdev of a zpool becomes inaccessible, any operation will (by default) block, including the destruction of the pool, as ZFS is expecting that the device will again become available.

Goal

 We wish to destroy a pool that no longer has any accessible vdevs.
