Application Launches within Secure Global Desktop Fail with Message "ErrTransportNotAvailable" in Environments Where Non-Standard SSH Ports are Used (Doc ID 1557410.1)

Last updated on MAY 05, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Secure Global Desktop - Version 4.7 to 5.2 [Release 4.0 to 5.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

By default, the OpenSSH (SSH Remote Login Protocol) server runs on IANA-registered TCP port 22.  A security-conscious Secure Global Desktop (SGD) Administrator may be asked to configure SSH to run on a non-standard port to make it difficult for a third party to guess the port the SSH Daemon is bound to, unless they perform port scan.

This configuration may cause connectivity problems in an environment where SGD is unable to launch remote applications on application servers with customized SSH daemons.
