Administrator is Unable to Login as root on Host Console After Installing Oracle Virtual Desktop Infrastructure 3.5 on Oracle Enterprise Linux 6.3

Symptoms

System Administrators that have installed Oracle Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) 3.5 or Sun Ray Server (SRS) 5.4 on a supported Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) platform may find that they are no longer to log into the system console as the 'root' user.  Specifically: before the VDI install, the Administrator could select Other User, and provide the credentials to authenticate as root.  After the installation of VDI, the selection of Other User now redirects to a different interface, and root credentials are not accepted.  

Note:  The VDI product documentation includes a formal list of supported OEL platforms.

Changes

Recent installation of VDI 3.5, or SRS 5.4.
