Applies to:
Sun Storage Common Array Manager (CAM) - Version 5.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Common Array Manager (CAM) is generating an alarm for a fault against one of its registered arrays. CAM fails to report the appropriate description and grid code for the alarm. The details may look something like the following.
This document only applies to situations where there are no outstanding hardware or firmware fault present in the array and below symptoms are met for the reported alarm.
- Doesn't have a Fault ID listed
- Doesn't have a grid code listed (not even a generic grid code)
- Even after re-registering the array, the alarm reappears with old time stamp
Changes
The alarm does not necessarily follow any change. It may have been there for a long time, but just recently noticed. Changes which might trigger the problem include a recent upgrade to CAM, or even a removal/re-registration process. It may also occur after resolving a Lost Communication Event.
