Windows 2008 R2 Applications Fail to Start And Report "X Session Timeout" Under Oracle Secure Global Desktop 5.0 on Oracle Linux.6.4 (Doc ID 1567026.1)

Attempts to launch Windows 2008 R2 applications when using Oracle Secure Global Desktop (SGD) on Oracle Linux 6.4 fail after a period of time with an:

X Session Timeout

 error message.

Running the SGD /opt/tarantella/bin/bin/ttatsc binary from the command line results in the error:

symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/ undefined symbol: _XGetRequest







Any of the following changes could result in this condition:

  1. Upgrading from an earlier version of SGD to version 5.0.
  2. Upgrading an application server from Windows 2003 or Windows 2008 to Windows 2008 R2
  3. Changing the SGD platform from Solaris or Oracle Linux 63 or earlier to Oracle Linux 6.4
