How to create a separate ZFS dataset to allow additional space for Ops Center installations and upgrades (Doc ID 1571408.1)

Last updated on JULY 20, 2023

Applies to:

Enterprise Manager Ops Center - Version 12.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Engineering recommends that Ops Center customers add separate ZFS datasets to a server which will be installed with Ops Center 12c.

When a customer installs or upgrades Ops Center 12c they need a large amount of disk space. In many instances their original root filesystem or rpool is either insufficient in size or just barely sufficient. So even if they do manage to install the latest version of Ops Center they run into problems if they decide to upgrade later on. To help alleviate this disk space issue, it is advisable that the customer create a separate mount point on a separate zpool from the operating system rpool.
