After Switching Secure Global Desktop From Direct Printing to PDF Printing, Paper Orientation And Other Properties Are Ignored (Doc ID 1572445.1)

Last updated on APRIL 04, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Secure Global Desktop - Version 4.5 to 5.2 [Release 4.0 to 5.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Secure Global Desktop (SGD) Administrators may receive reports from users that configuration changes--such as paper orientation, or size--will not be be preserved after the 'Follow-Me-Printing' feature of SGD had been updated from Printer-Direct printing to PDF printing.

For Example:  Users may find that after changing the paper orientation from Portrait to Landscape while printing within the remote application, the print job ignores the change and will print it in Portrait format locally.

Note: More information on SGD Printing can be found in the Printing chapter of the standard product documentation.

Changes

The SGD server has been configured to enable PDF Printing as it's default printing functionality.
