(Doc ID 1578879.1)
Last updated on MARCH 17, 2025
Applies to:
Sun StorageTek SL8500 Modular Library System - Version All Versions and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Issue occurred Saturday on 2013-08-17T22:09:14.094; this time stamp is based on the library time-of-day clock. Confirmed from the library logs an SLC user logged in and attempted to set the “Apply Default Capacity” or “Apply User Design”. These are the only 2 known options to trigger the Library Controller to attempt to change the capacity configuration at the 6.07 library code level.
Symptoms
The library “active” cell capacity changes to 0; but it is not noted in the library information report or SL Console status screens. The “Apply Default Capacity” and “Apply User Design” in the SL Console “Active Cells” Menu is not compatible with 6.07 or earlier code and SL Console code 5.80 through 6.0, event log example;
2013-08-17T22:09:14.094, 1.0.0.0.0, root, default,setCapacityL, 24801, info, 3244, "Capacity changed Changed Capacity configuration"
