Last updated on OCTOBER 01, 2020

Applies to:

Sun Storage Traffic Manager Software - Version 3.0 to 4.6 [Release 3.0 to 4.0]
Solaris Operating System - Version 8 6/00 U1 to 11.3 [Release 8.0 to 11.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Note: Make sure any NON-Oracle Multipathing Software has been properly disabled and/or removed.

Note: It is ultimately up to the NON-Oracle Storage vendor to get Oracle Solaris Multipathing (MPXIO) to work with their storage array. Oracle support will assist where ever possible but the NON-Oracle storage array vendor should have documentation showing how Oracle Solaris server needs to be configured for the Oracle Solaris Multipathing (MPXIO) to work properly with their storage array.

Different files are modified depending on which version of Solaris see following doc:

An introduction to the MPxIO user visible configuration files(Doc ID 1510731.1)

Below example is for Solaris 11.

Mpxio does not recognize third party Hitachi array.

mpxio is enabled.
