Oracle Exalytics How To Calculate TimesTen Memory Utilization On Exalytics Server (Doc ID 1580160.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 04, 2018

Applies to:

Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 5.5 with Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel [2.6.32] to Oracle Linux 5.5 [Release OL5U5]
Oracle TimesTen In-Memory Database - Version to [Release 11.2]
Oracle Exalytics Software - Version to [Release 1.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When using TimesTen (TT) and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) 11g on an Oracle Exalytics server, the hugepage parameter has been set as described in the Exalytics Install Guide.

vm.nr_hugepages = 410200

There are no aggregates defined in TT at this time, but the free memory seems to be less than what is expected.

For example:

[root@lyisexa01 ~]# free -m
  total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 1034144 998409 35735 0 1427 140566
-/+ buffers/cache: 856415 177729
Swap: 98655 0 98655

How can the memory utilization be calculated on the Exalytics Server?
