Users Report Launch Failures, Investigation Shows TTA_NAME_release Environment Variable Causing Parsing Issue in Automated Launch Scripts (Doc ID 1580187.1)

Last updated on APRIL 09, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Secure Global Desktop - Version 4.7 to 5.0 [Release 4.0 to 5.0]
Generic UNIX

Symptoms

Users may report application launch failures from remote (3rd Tier) Solaris Application Servers within Oracle Secure Global Desktop (SGD) server version 4.7, or later.

Diagnostic review of launch logs by the SGD Administrator may show that the TTA_NAME_release environment variable contains a new line (or some other special character) which causes parsing problems in the execution of automated login scripts.

Changes

Administrators of deployments that have been recently upgraded to SGD 4.7 or 5 may receive this report.

The TTA_NAME_release environment variable is a new diagnostic utility that was recently included in SGD.
