Solaris Cluster After Setting mode=sc Option for the private-vsw Devices on the Primary and rebooting Primary, the Nodes on the Guest Domains can no Longer Communicate With Each Other (Doc ID 1583136.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 10, 2024

Applies to:

Solaris Cluster - Version 3.2 U3 and later
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
Oracle Solaris on x86-64 (64-bit)

Symptoms

Solaris Cluster in LDom was working fine, however the mode=sc was inadvertently not set.

After setting mode=sc option on the primary for the private-vsw devices, the Solaris Cluster nodes on the guests LDom can no longer communicate with each other.

The guest LDom was down when the change was made, the primary rebooted and then the guest was booted.

Changes

The mode for private-vsw devices was set

This mode enables virtual networking support for prioritized processing of Oracle Solaris Cluster heartbeat packets in a Logical Domains environment.
