Goal

When troubleshooting Oracle Qlogic Fibre Channel (FC) HBA connectivity issue low level (debug) message maybe needed by Oracle support.

This document explains how to enable logging of extended (debug) troubleshooting messages to the /var/adm/messages files for Oracle Qlogic Fibre Channel (FC) HBA card(s) on a Solaris servers using Oracle Qlogic FC HBA Driver "emxls".

Debug messages are analyzed by Oracle support personnel since they may list false-positive messages. Oracle support personnel will use messages in context with other events and troubleshooting.

NOTE: Oracle Qlogic FC HBA cards are only supported with Oracle Qlogic "qlc" FC HBA Driver see doc

Using NON-Oracle Qlogic "qla" FC HBA Driver with Oracle Qlogic FC HBA Cards is Not Supported (Doc ID 1583117.1)
