Oracle Virtual Desktop Client Returns Incorrect ATR History (Doc ID 1591380.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 29, 2013

Applies to:

Oracle Virtual Desktop Client - Version 3.2 to 3.2 [Release 3.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Consider an Oracle Virtual Desktop Client (OVDC) installed on a Windows 7 Machine / PC with a Smart Card reader attached.

Note: The Smart Card reader models used in this illustration are:

GemPC Express

Also, the Smart Cards used were:

BasicCard ZC3.13 REV C, and
BasicCard ZC3.14 REV D

This client is configured to connect to a Sun Ray Server running 5.4 version.

When the client attempts to connect, it returns with the wrong ATR History, causing the inserted Smart Card not to be recognized.

For example:

The card's ATR information is:

ATR: 3bbc1800813120755a43332e313320524556204345
ATR History: 5A43332E3133205245562043

However OVDC returns below info:

ATR History: 43332E313320524556204345

Although, the same Smart Card can be seen to be recognized correctly on a physical Sun Ray client with no problem.
