Symptoms
Solaris Cluster 3.3 3/13 update2 can not use a partition/slice for /globaldevices filesystem.
Affected are:
Solaris Cluster 3.3 3/13 update2 initial release
or any Solaris Cluster 3.3 release which using
<SunPatch 145333-20> or <SunPatch 145333-23> Oracle Solaris Cluster 3.3: Core Patch for Oracle Solaris 10
<SunPatch 145334-20> or <SunPatch 145334-23> Oracle Solaris Cluster 3.3: Core Patch for Oracle Solaris 10_x86
If running scinstall within Solaris Cluster installation you can choose to install /globaldevices into a partition/slice or using a loopback file (lofi).
Example:
Even if you respond "no" to not use the lofi device as default globaldevices method within the interactive scinstall menu, it will still configure a lofi device.
