Windows Application only Launches within a Full Desktop Session, will not Display Independently via Secure Global Desktop (Doc ID 1594909.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 14, 2015

Oracle Secure Global Desktop - Version 4.7 to 5.2 [Release 4.0 to 5.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

The Secure Global Desktop (SGD) Administrator has configured a Windows application object to provision an application with passed command line arguments from a Windows 2008 R2 server to display independently for remote users.   Attempts to launch that application, however, present a full Windows desktop session to the user, rather than an independent window.

In some environments, this behavior may also present as a white screen flash as the window is drawn, then quickly closed, returning the user to their webtop.

The Windows Application Object has been configured, with a concise path to the executable as available on the hosting Windows application server.

For example, Window's Internet Explorer:

Attributes for .../_ens/o=Applications/cn=IE:
Name: IE
accel: 1
allowkioskescape: 0
app: "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"
