E1000g cards reporting error: Invalid NVM checksum. Please contact the vendor to update the NVM.

E1000g cards was reporting errors in /var/adm/messages file as below:
Oct 30 09:14:49 hostname1 e1000g: [ID 801725 kern.warning] WARNING: pciex8086,105e - e1000g : Invalid NVM checksum. Please contact the vendor to update the NVM.
If you try to plumb e1000g4, it gives error as below:
# ifconfig e1000g4 plumb
ifconfig: SIOCSLIFNAME for ip: e1000g4: Invalid argument
Also, at OK prompt, the cards are not being recognized if you run below command:
But /etc/path_to_inst file sees it and Kernel recognizes it. Physically, cards were there in the system.
