Some X Applications Accessed via Secure Global Desktop May Fail To Recognize Input From Numpad Keys (Doc ID 1597615.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 13, 2013

Applies to:

Oracle Secure Global Desktop - Version 5.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Users accessing an X application hosted by a HP/UX application server and provisioned on an alternate-platform Secure Global Desktop (SGD) server (such as Oracle Linux Server), may report that Numeric or Directional keys from the extended Numpad are not recognized as expected.

Changes

SGD version 4.7 and later uses an extension called XKB that will offer alternative behavior for clients. The standard keyboard behavior itself, in X, is based on the ISO standard keyboard (which includes NumLock).
