Symptoms

After a Disk Change on Eighth Rack Systems we May See The Error Message "A non-system disk is a bootable device" 

This can be verified from cell Alerthistory log:

"Cell configuration check discovered the following problems:    System Disk Errors:  [WARNING] A non-system disk is a bootable device, but its boot signature is not valid. "

[WARNING] [SYSDISK] 6 Non-system disk /dev/sdg is a bootable device, but has not a valid boot signature for the first partition

Changes

A hard disk from an unused slot is replaced on the eighth rack Exadata X3-2 Hardware.

 

After disk replacement in slot 10 the output look like:
