LTFS-LE patch 1.0.4.04.001 has been released.  It is available, as of March 22nd, 2017, on Oracle's edelivery website.

Note: the previous LTFS-LE patches, 1.0.4.02.0 released May 1st, 2015 and 1.0.4.03.007 released July 17th, 2016, are no longer available for download.

This patch includes the following bug fixes and one functional behavior change, documented below.  This information, along with some known limitations and other release details, can be found in the "LTFSLE_1.0.4.04.001_RELEASE_NOTES.pdf"file.  This file is included with the download and can be found in the attachments section below, for your convenience.

Bugs fixed in 1.0.4.04.001

Functional Behavior Changes

There is a functional change in the movement of volume folders in the global namespace. Volumes in the offline state can now be moved from the /LTFSLE/LOST+FOUND+VOLUMES directory to the /LTFSLE directory. This is new behavior and is required to support the ability to move a volume folder from to the root folder using the preparevolume webservice API.

Actions

To acquire the patch, download it off the Oracle Software Delivery Cloud.  After signing into the Oracle Software Delivery Cloud site, you'll need to first select 'Filter Products By: Program' up at the top.  In the box for 'Product' type in "ltfs" and it will give you 4 product choices, all of which start with the description of "StorageTek Linear Tape File System, Library Edition" and all of which are actually the same.

Scroll down on the page and click on 'Continue'. You will be taken to a new screen and there should be a checkmark next to the "Oracle StorageTek Linear Tape File System (LTFS), Library Edition 1.0.4.04.0 for Linux x86-64, 1 files" selection you already made.  Click on 'Continue' again.  A pop-up window will come up asking that you check a box saying that the Oracle Standard Terms and Restrictions have been reviewed and agreed upon.   Check that box and click on 'Continue'.  Another pop-up window will come up showing the requested software, with the description of "V860860-01.zip Oracle StorageTek Linear Tape File System (LTFS), Library Edition (1.0.4.04.001)"  Click on the zip file shown to initiate the download.

Review the document titled "LTFSLE 1.0.4.04.001 RELEASE NOTES", found in the 'Attachments' section below, for information on the changes made in this release.

Note: The existing 1.0 documentation found here, was updated with the changes that came with this new release.

Note: As a reminder, on July 12, 2016, Oracle announced EOL (End of Life) for the StorageTek LTFS-LE SL3000 and SL8500 Integrated Software Options.  This means that the existing StorageTek SL3000 and/or StorageTek SL8500 modular library system customers, using LTFS-LE, will be able to access product patches and upgrade to this latest version (1.0.4.03), but they will not be able to buy another license for their existing StorageTek SL3000 or StorageTek SL8500 modular library system, using LTFS-LE, after August 31, 2016.
