Goal
NOTE: The scenario described here applies only to NPIV ports created within standard Solaris servers (i.e. no domain virtualization).
It DOES NOT APPLY to Solaris Servers that uses Oracle Virtual Domain (OVM) technology that configures Control DOmains (CDOM) virtualization technology to present a virtualized HBA via SR-IOV, DIO or vSAN/vHBA to Logical Domains (LDOM). In this case NPIV is enabled by default, but NPIV Not Supported will still be displayed in the output from the command fcinfo hba-port, so can be safely ignored.

According to the documentation, it should be possible to create NPIV virtual HBAs on a Sun branded Emulex LPem12002E-S HBA, but fcinfo hba-port output indicates NPIV not supported.
