Exalytics: Unable to Ping Net1 After Configuring On Exalytics OVM (Doc ID 1609283.1)

Symptoms

Installed Oracle Virtual Manager (OVM) on an Exalytics server and configured the following:

Net0 OVM Management interface
Net1 Backup Interface for VMs
Net2 Prod VLAN Interface 1
Net3 Prod VLAN Interface 2

Net1 is physically cabled to a backup switch.  The interface has been configured with the correct IP address and gateway routes and it shows as "green"  but it is not reachable (via ping commands)."
