Recent versions of Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol (MSRDP) offer the ability to recognize multiple local monitors rather than simply a single local logical monitor of a size aggregated from the local physical monitors. See the following URL for details of this feature:
Oracle Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) 3.5 makes use of this functionality using a Sun Ray Multi Head Group (MHG) as per:
when enabled though, instead of acting correctly and starting a multi-head MSRDP session (no spanned display but multiple RDP displays) it results in one RDP display on the primary and a black screen on the other monitors or a single task bar is spread across all monitors rather than one for each monitor.
