Symptoms

If the configuration in /etc/nsswitch.conf for hosts and netmasks database is not correct then several problems can occur in Solaris Cluster environment. The cluster check utility will show this as follows:

The output of command "cluster check -v" includes something like this:

Within the installation (scinstall) of Solaris Cluster the nsswitch.conf file will be properly configured automatically.

Changes

At some point after scinstall was run, someone modified /etc/nsswitch.conf on Node1.
