ACSLS - db_command stop Fails With "Cannot Set Group Id To 404" (Doc ID 1637184.1)

Symptoms

ACSLS 7.3 is failing to start or stop with:

db_command stop

Cannot set group id to 404

We are able to login as user "acsdb" and manually start/stop the database:

$ pg_ctl -w -D $PGDATA start

setuid was enabled on /export/home and /export/backup as reported by the "mount" command:

/export/backup on /dev/md/acsls_ds/dsk/d200 read/write/setuid/devices/intr/largefiles/logging/xattr/onerror=panic/dev=15420c8 on Thu Jul 11 13:00:30 2013
/export/home on /dev/md/acsls_ds/dsk/d100 read/write/setuid/devices/intr/largefiles/logging/xattr/onerror=panic/dev=1542064 on Thu Jul 11 13:00:30 2013
