Symptoms

After shutdown of the operating sytem and upon attempt to start the update of the System Firmware,
an error is displayed, indicating that the firmware update is in progress:

sc> flashupdate -v
Error: SC flash update in progress.
sc>


At this stage, it's not possible to poweron the server, nor to reset the system controller:

sc> poweron
Host poweron failed.
poweron error: Flash in progress
sc>

 

sc> resetsc
Are you sure you want to reset the SC (y/n)? y
Performing hard reset on the SC failed
resetsc: Flash in progress
sc>
