(Doc ID 1674527.1)
Last updated on MAY 08, 2024
Applies to:
Sun Solaris Volume Manager (SVM) - Version 11.9.0 to 11.11 [Release 11.0]Oracle Solaris on x86-64 (64-bit)
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
Symptoms
In this scenario Solaris Cluster (OSC) was configured with Solaris Volume Manager (SVM) and the hostname was changed.
If a host was renamed with the 'hostname' command it will not be able to become the owner for any metaset that was configured with the original/previous hostname.
Examples:
In a Solaris Cluster environment there will be no errors on the command line. The appropriate errors will be printed in the /var/adm/messages like this:
The host will not be able to become the owner of the metaset. Running this command in Solaris Cluster environment will be bring no output because the metaset will failover to another cluster node.
