Solaris Cluster Unable to Bring SRDF Device Group Online due to 'Unable to determine the RDF status' Errors (Doc ID 1683534.1)

Symptoms

Upon attempting to implement EMC SRDF in an existing Solaris Cluster configuration, the resource fails to come online with the following messages:

May 13 18:14:07 des Cluster.Framework: [ID 801593 daemon.error] stderr:
May 13 18:14:07 des The device group does not exist
May 13 18:14:07 des Cluster.Framework: [ID 801593 daemon.error] stderr:
May 13 18:14:07 des The device group does not exist
May 13 18:14:07 des Cluster.Framework: [ID 801593 daemon.error] stderr:
May 13 18:14:07 des The device group does not exist
May 13 18:14:07 des Cluster.Framework: [ID 801593 daemon.notice] stdout: Unable to determine the RDF status for ATESA.
May 13 18:14:07 des Cluster.Framework: [ID 801593 daemon.notice] stdout: /usr/cluster/lib/sc/run_reserve: Replication takeover failure for ATESA, replicated device groups may be unavailable and may require manual recovery

 

Changes

 This was a new implementation of SRDF in an existing HA Oracle Solaris Cluster environment.
